CULINARY

The Center for Continuing Studies at Mercer offers ongoing ServSafe Food Manager Certification and Re-Certification sessions. It is mandatory for New Jersey food establishments to have at least one person credentialed in ServSafe Food Safety. The nine hour course provides food protection managers with the necessary tools to identify and prevent food borne illnesses. The exam is administered at the end of the last class.

Food service professionals who were previously certified must be re-certified every five years. The three-hour re-certification course provides a review of material prior to taking the exam. Please note that the Senior Citizen Discount is not applicable to these classes.

ServSafe Certification Food Safety Manager Exam Prep and Exam

This preparatory course now consists of two instructional sessions followed by a content review and the exam. Please obtain and review the textbook prior to beginning class. The ServSafe 6th Edition textbook with answer sheet is available in the college bookstore or on-line here. If you are purchasing the e-text, the answer sheet can be purchased in the college bookstore. The answer sheet and two forms of ID (one with photo) are required to take the exam. Cost: $129

ServSafe Re-Certification

Required: Students must have a ServSafe Certificate that has not yet expired. Those with expired certificates will need to take the full ServSafe Certification Food Safety Manager Exam Prep above.

This three-hour workshop includes a review period followed by the exam.

Cost: $79

ServSafe ReTest

Required: Students must have taken the ServSafe Certification Prep and Exam at the Center for Continuing Studies at Mercer County Community College and previously failed.

Review for the ServSafe exam and then take the test in this three-hour workshop. The textbook and exam sheet is available at the college bookstore. Cost: $20

Less than 10 days before class start date: no refund

Credit card payments will be refunded to the credit card; cash and check payments will be refunded via a check from MCCC.
