ESL and Languages

Fundamentals of English Language - Level I

Speak and read English better! Adults learn in a comfortable and supportive group.

You’ll improve your pronunciation, comprehension and vocabulary skills in a relaxed atmosphere as you explore American culture. In this course, you will become comfortable with the rules of English grammar. You will practice everyday conversation to gain confidence, and learn useful expressions in a friendly, helpful atmosphere. Students can register for either part 1 or part 2 based on experience, but assessment will be given to determine actual language level and placed into appropriate level 1 or level 2.Textbook is included in the cost of the class.

Mandatory attendance for placement test on Thursday, January 11.

Intermediate Grammar for English as Second Language Learners - Level 2

Improve your pronunciation, comprehension and learn intermediate vocabulary skills in a relaxed atmosphere as you. Become comfortable with the rules of English grammar as you practice complex everyday conversation to gain confidence, and learn useful expressions in a friendly, helpful atmosphere. Students will have the option to learn everyday computer usage in our computer labs. Textbook is included in the cost of the class. Mandatory attendance for placement test on Thursday, January 11.

Speaking Everyday English- Level 3

Prerequisite: Fundamentals of English Language – Level I

Talk about everyday topics that occur at the bank, store, restaurant, car repair shop, train station and more. Read dialogue text and role play to increase confidence in daily activities. This course helps students improve their ability to hold a conversation in a variety of settings and situations. Cost: $300

Pronouncing American English

Prerequisite: ability to read a newspaper in English

Improve your American English Accent. Learn the sounds, intonation, melody, and word stress patterns with opportunities for individual and group presentations. Prerequisite: ability to read a newspaper in English. Cost: $200
