Project S.M.I.L.E./GEAR UP
Mercer County Community College, in conjunction with the Commission on Higher Education, offers an academic enrichment program called Project SMILE/GEAR UP. The Program is housed at the James Kerney Campus of Mercer County Community College, Trenton, New Jersey. Through SMILE/GEAR UP, 7th and 8th grade students, who attend Holland, King, or Headgepeth/Williams Middle Schools participate in math, science, communications, self-development, computer classes with online Internet help, cooperative learning groups, and interdisciplinary study. Students attend classes on Saturday during the school year, and Monday through Friday for six weeks during the summer. Lunch, books and bus tickets are provided. Students also participate in culturally enriching activities and field trips.

Smile Parent Association encourages parents to be advocates for their child/children through workshops, seminars, and various activies.
