Theatre Students Present 'Never The Sinner' This Weekend
The Theatre program brings the sensational 1924 murder trial of Leopold and Loeb to the Studio Theatre stage tonight at 8 p.m., tomorrow, Nov. 19 at 8 p.m.; and Sunday, Nov. 20 at 2 p.m. Two well-off young men decide to commit the "perfect crime," and tap into a national conversation about the death penalty and the nature of the criminal mind. The show is directed by alumna Deena Jiles-Shu'aib, with choreography by Jody Gazenbeek-Person. Lighting and sound are by Entertainment Technology students. Next Philosophy Club Discussion Is Nov. 23
The Philosophy S.P.A. Club continues its Civil Discourse Series with "Disingenuous Gray Areas and Virtuous Vagueness" on Nov. 23. The group meets on Wednesdays in LA213 from noon to 1 p.m. Students, faculty and staff are all invited to join the conversation. The final discussion for the fall semester is "The Demarcation Problem: Science or Pseudoscience?" on Nov. 30.

'Twas the Night Before Christmas' at Kelsey Theatre Dec. 2 to 4
The good tidings of the holiday season continue at Kelsey Theatre as The Kelsey Players present "'Twas the Night Before Christmas" Dec. 2 to 4. Based on the classic poem by Clement Moore, it's a holiday musical that is sure to please. Read more about the production here.

Coping with Technology Is Topic for MCCC Lecture Dec. 7
Do you feel overwhelmed by the accelerating use of technology – from phones, to cars, to household appliances? Kevin Bals, principal of High Technology High School (HTHS), will put it all in perspective! Bals will deliver a lecture entitled “Making the Complex Simple: Learning to Lead in a Technical World” as part of MCCC’s Distinguished Lecture Series at noon on Wednesday, Dec. 7, in room 109 of the Communications Building. AAWCC-Mercer Invites Families to Holiday Extravaganza Dec. 17
The MCCC chapter of the American Association for Women in Community Colleges (AAWCC) invites the children and grandchildren of college faculty, staff, and students to AAWCC-Mercer’s Second Annual  Holiday Extravaganza on Dec. 17, 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the West Windsor Campus gymnasium. "All In for Student Success" is the theme of the 2015-16 college and Foundation Annual Report, which includes highlights from the past year and features a number of students who had good things to say about their Mercer experience. Student Collaboration Center Opens For Business
Shortly after the speeches were finished at the opening reception, students were already making good use of the new Student Collaboration Center in BS109. The room is brightly furnished and includes computers, a printer and two televisions for business and world news. Read about it here.

National Chemistry Week Project Has Touched 12,000 Youngsters Over 18 Years
MCCC science faculty and students are doing their part to create a future generation of young people excited and curious about chemistry. This year's observance of National Chemistry Week marked 18 years for a Mercer-led initiative that brings our students to the county's elementary schools to present experiments that never fail to please. Student Restaurant Earns Rave Reviews for Louisiana Feast; California Menu Up Next
Students in the American Regional Restaurant class served a memorable menu of Louisiana favorites for two weeks in November. Customers raved about dishes including Duck Étouffée, Blackened Red Fish, and Chicken and Seafood Jambalaya. See photos on Facebook here. Next up is California cuisine Nov. 30, Dec. 7 and Dec. 14. See the menu here. The "Miserable Sods” student restaurant serves one more meal on Tuesday, Nov. 29. Check out the menu here.

Tickets for both restaurants are available at the Bursar's Office and must be purchased in advance. The dining room is located in ES111, with seating from 11:45 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Tickets are $8 for students, $10 for staff, and $12 for guests. Tables of six or fewer only please! Tickets are valid for the specific date only and there are no refunds. Questions? Email benowitf@mccc.edu.

Women’s Basketball Players Launch Full-Court Press for Worthy Cause
Even before the season had begun, several members of the women's basketball team were already representing MCCC with distinction. In October, freshmen Cassie Filipowicz and Mary Kate Madonia, along with Assistant Coach Jane Berlinger, helped raise funds for local breast cancer organizations. Read more here.

Reminders

Through Dec. 1: 'Magic' Exhibit at The Gallery. Eight artists define magic on their own terms in the exhibit “Magic,” at the Gallery at Mercer. The show will be on display through Thursday, Dec. 1. Read more here.

Through Dec. 12: Athletics Department Food Drive. The MCCC Athletics Department is teaming up with the Garden State Athletic Conference (GSAC) for a holiday food drive to benefit Mercer Street Friends Food Bank. Admission is free to the Nov. 22 and Dec. 3 men's and women's basketball games with a food donation. Non-perishable food items (no glass items please) will be collected in the Fitness Center and in a donation box in front of the Athletics Office in the PE Building. Through Dec. 12: Marines' Toys for Tots Annual Holiday Drive. Kelsey Theatre is an official drop-off site for Toys for Tots. Staff members are encouraged to donate new, unwrapped toys in the drop box located in the Kelsey Theatre lobby.

Through Dec. 14: MCCC Exercise Classes. Due to Thanksgiving break, there are no exercise classes next week. The schedule resumes Nov. 28 for evening yoga classes on Mondays through Dec. 12, 5:30 to 6:30 p.m. in PE225; Zumba on Tuesdays through Dec. 13, noon to 1 p.m. in the gym; and lunchtime yoga on Wednesdays through Dec. 14, also from noon to 1 p.m. in the gym, and taught by our very own Helen Tanzini, Professor of Chemistry. (Bring your own mat for yoga.)
