'Dogfight' Opens Tonight at Kelsey Theatre
Set to music by Benj Pasek and Justin Paul, composers of La La Land and Dear Evan Hansen, Pierrot Productions proudly presents "Dogfight" at MCCC's Kelsey Theatre tonight through Nov. 12. The show is set during the Vietnam War as the country began learning the costs of war and the never-ending need for human connections and compassion. A reception with the cast and crew follows tonight's performance. More here. See a video spotlight on the production here.

Aaron Turner Photo Exhibit at JKC Gallery Ends Saturday
Saturday Nov. 4 is the last day to see Aaron Turner's engaging photo exhibit "Arkansas Delta" at the JKC Gallery. Raised in the Arkansas Delta, Turner presents an exhibit capturing the region and its history from an insider's perspective. The show's final day takes place in conjunction with Art All Day in Trenton from noon to 5 p.m. More here.

Free Karaoke Night at JKC Nov. 7
On Tuesday, Nov. 7, the James Kerney Campus will host a free karaoke night in the Center City Cafe. The event will run from 6-8 p.m. Food will be served. For more information, contact Steve Waniak at waniaks@mccc.edu or ext. 3165.

Fourth Annual HRIM Culinary Tasting Scholarship Benefit is Nov. 8
MCCC's HRIM program is inviting the college community to a feast at the Fourth Annual Culinary Tasting Benefit, a benefit for HRIM scholarships. The event is Wednesday, Nov. 8, 6 to 8 pm., in the WWC Student Center Cafeteria. Bring your friends! More information here; see the flyer here.

MCCC to Host Global Opportunities Conference Nov. 10
Mercer is hosting its inaugural Global Opportunities (GO!) Conference Friday, Nov. 10. The program will be held at the MCCC Conference Center from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and is free for MCCC faculty and staff. Details are available here. Registration ends soon; if you are interested, register here.

Veterans Day Observance at MCCC Nov. 11
All students, faculty, and staff members who served in the armed forces are cordially invited to a Luncheon Ceremony in the West Windsor Cafeteria, beginning at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 11. The MCCC Culinary Arts Hospitality Club will be hosting this year's event. Please RSVP to Tammy Luciano at lucianot@mccc.edu by Nov. 8.

The holiday season becomes even more magical when the snow starts falling! M&M Stage Productions brings “Irving Berlin’s White Christmas” to Kelsey Theatre for three weekends, Nov. 17 through Dec. 3, with Saturday matinees added to the schedule. Read more here.

Former NJ Governor McGreevy to Speak on Prison Reentry Program Nov. 21
Former New Jersey Gov. Jim McGreevy, executive director of the Jersey City Employment and Training Program, will address the importance and success of prison reentry efforts during a lecture at noon on Tuesday, Nov. 21 in CM109. His talk is part of MCCC’s fall 2017 Distinguished Lecture Series. Read more here.

L.E.A.D. Collecting for ‘People and Pets’ Food Drive through Nov. 30
MCCC’s Leadership, Education and Development program (L.E.A.D.) and the Student Government Association are collecting for Meals on Wheels of Mercer County this holiday season. The goal is to make 250 Blizzard Bags that include single-serve items for people and pets in case of a weather emergency when food deliveries are not possible. For a full list of items, e-mail clugstej@mccc.edu. Donation boxes are located outside SC111 on the West Windsor Campus.

Kelsey Theatre Collecting for 'Toys for Tots' Through Dec. 7
Kelsey Theatre is an official drop-off site for the Marine's Toys for Tots annual holiday drive. Staff members are encouraged to donate new, unwrapped toys in the box located in the Kelsey Theatre lobby. To aid in the collection effort, Rooftop Theatre Collaborative (RTC) will be selling toys in the Kelsey Theatre lobby during performances of "White Christmas," Nov. 18-Dec. 3 (no toy sale on Nov. 17). For every $10 toy sold, RTC will donate a $5 toy to Toys for Tots. The Marines drive will end on Dec. 7, but the sale will continue during all performances of "Twas the Night Before Christmas," Dec. 8-10, with all toys collected after Dec. 8 to be donated to a local charity.

Prof. Steve Voorhees Offers Bonus Commentary for Green Acres Box Set
Owners of the new box set of the 1960s television comedy Green Acres will find a bonus during their nostalgic trip to Hooterville. In addition to Mr. Haney, Fred Ziffel, and Arnold the Pig, they will find a guest commentary that includes Steve Voorhees, MCCC associate professor in the Television, Digital Film, and New Media program. Golf Classic Is Hole-In-One for MCCC Student Athletes
The MCCC Foundation and the Athletics Department welcomed 102 community friends and corporate supporters to the Haldeman Auto Group Golf Classic for MCCC Scholarships on Oct. 2. The tournament, which benefits the college’s student athletes, was held at Trenton Country Club. The event netted more than $28,000 for scholarship support. Read more here.

Men's Soccer Team Wins Region 19 Title, Advances to District Tournament Nov. 4-5
The men’s soccer team is back where it wants to be -- Region 19 champs! The Vikings captured the Region 19 title with a 3-1 win over Essex County College Oct. 28. With the win, the Vikings travel to the Northeast District Championship this weekend at Monroe Community College (Rochester) to face Massasoit in its opening game on Saturday. With a win, they will earn a bid to the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Division I Men’s Soccer National Tournament! Read more here.

Women’s Cross Country Captures Region 19 Title, Headed to Nationals Nov. 11
For the second consecutive year, the women’s cross country team is celebrating its run to the Region 19 title on Oct. 18. The National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) Region 19 5K meet took place at White Clay Creek State Park in Newark, Del. With the win, the team advances to the NJCAA Division 1 championship, to take place in Fort Dodge, Iowa, Nov. 11. Read more here.

Through Saturday: Prof. Lucas Kelly Featured in Solo Exhibition. Lucas Kelly, MCCC Professor of Visual Arts and Director of The Gallery at Mercer, invites the MCCC community to his solo exhibition, "Last First Dance," at the Center for Contemporary Arts (CCA), which ends Saturday, Nov. 4. CCA is located at 2020 Burnt Mills Road in Bedminster, NJ. See Kelly on the CCA website here.

Through Nov. 30: "#RealNews," Works by Michael Scoggins. An exhibit featuring the acclaimed artist continues at The Gallery in West Windsor. Read more here.

Through Dec. 13: Yoga and Zumba Classes in PE Building. The schedule includes Monday evening yoga through Dec. 11 in PE225, 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m; Wednesday lunchtime yoga through Dec. 13 in the gym, noon to 1 p.m.; and Tuesday Zumba through Dec. 12, in the gym from noon to 1 p.m. Note that there will be no classes during Thanksgiving week. Through Dec. 17: HRIM Lunches. Tickets are on sale for Tuesday and Wednesday lunches at the student restaurant. The Little Skillet restaurant serves on Tuesdays through Nov. 28 and the American Regional restaurant on Wednesdays through Dec. 17. Seating is from 11:45 - 12:30 p.m. in ES 111. Tickets must be purchased in advance online, or at the Kelsey Theatre Box Office or the Bursar's Office. Tickets are $10 for students, faculty and staff, and $12 for guests. Please note that there is an additional charge for tickets purchased online or through the Kelsey Box Office. Tables of six or fewer, please. No refunds. Tickets only valid for a specific date.
